In my homebrew experience Champagne yeast is the best yeast for homemade hooch. Its heat tolerance is incredibly wide, its alcohol tolerance is very high, and it is so hearty that you have to go way out of your way to kill it.
Did anon know that a countertop water distiller functions as a cheap foodsafe alternative to making a still? The vapor point for alcohol is higher than water, so with a simple rheostat and a few resistors you can turn a distiller into a still and cook off the alchol into delicious counter top shine. Just make sure to pour off the headers because the acetone produced by yeast won't get you drunk and will fuck your body up hard.
