For the time, in bumfuck flyoverville USA, those games might as well have been from Mars.
Honorable Mention to the JP Version of Dragon Seed that I somehow managed to stumble through as a 8 year old with zero Japanese language knowledge. I didn't even know what the game was called until I saw it again in my 20's, I have no clue how it ended up at my local rental store. Must have been a turbo weeb working there because they had a ton of anime too.
