It's a short game, but finding out how to get the true ending on my own took me hours and was really fun.

First ps2 game i ever had, got it from funcoland the day after christmas. I had never played anything like it, it had such a strange atmosphere. My older sister liked watching me play it for some reason, she got a kick out of the old guy saying "I hope you die". I was genuinely baffled when I found out everybody hated it. Especially the music, the soundtrack is downright majestic and people frequently list it as one of the worst ever, I don't get it

>My favorite BOF game and top 3 RPG's ever for me
>Everyone fucking hates it
>>714704294I was just about to post this. This was my first ever horror game at like 8 or 9 years old and it scared the shit out of me. Replaying it a few years ago it really does hold up. One of a kind atmosphere and fun gameplay.
I'd heard about the anime but never watched it, but I guess since you're endorsing it I'll give it a watch.
>>714672912>NG+ it four times in a row getting every ending in the process>played it so much that the disc started skipping >had a selection of pots in the hundreds with enough material to water down for more uses>most frequently used one was a pot that had 400 unconscious, 150 amnesia and 850 explosive power>could speedrun assassinations in half a minute just from oneshotting their ass into the stratosphere with a well placed ninja grenade
>>714691104I actually played sports games before they became yearly roster updates. All the arcade like sports and racing games are a lost art
>>714670835>>714671782Crime games need to make a comeback
>>714670101 (OP)The fact it is made by Fromsoft makes it funny to me since I love souls games.
>>714705035>but I guess since you're endorsing it I'll give it a watch. It's a quick watch, the episodes are only about two minutes long each and I think it's all on youtube. There's four seasons and most of the cutscene footage from the game is taken straight from the anime.
>>714670101 (OP)We had a small mom n pops vidya store in my hometown. Even before I had a PS2 the owner would let me try out games on a console and a crt they had on display. Picrel will forever be the goat.
>>714705042>Assassination via a massive explosionDoesn't seem very stealthy.
>>714705485why did shovelware games die? there's still shit like indies, early access scams and mobile trash out there but these just kinda phased out and no one cared.
>>714705485You still get a decent payout so long as you weren't spotted prior to the throw and the lords love it when you complete the missions fast. Sometimes there is collateral but they usually get over it when they see the results.
>You can go ANYWHERE
I'm serious, you can go wherever the fuck you want in the map, there's no arbitrary thing stopping you other than strong enemies.
>Huge vehicle system
Variety of cars, tanks including some special hidden ones
>Multiple party members you can swap out at anytime
They serve a similar function but have different skillsets, one of them is extremely unique cause she's a cyborg and cannot be revived via normal means, in fact if she dies in combat 3 times, she's dead for good, you can turn her into a chip to use on your weapons
>Can't rez like normal
There are I believe 2 revive items in the entire game, you can't die in combat otherwise you have to drag your friend's corpse to a mad scientist to get bring them back.
>4th party member is always a dog
A dog you can put a bazooka on.
>Multiple endings
There's tons of dialogue options that can lead you to an ending like an arranged marriage or joining a cult.
>Absurd amount of optional shit to do
From finding the super secret giga tank to doing all the bounties.
I found out much later that this is one bug game of a fairly popular series in Japan.
Its a great fucking RPG, highly recommend.
I'll only give one piece of advice.
When you do the final bounty and she says "Bring a vehicle if you want" listen to her. You will die otherwise.
>>714683346>oo bad I didn't have internet to play it online, but single player was fun.At least you had to option to go online. The PAL version had its online mode just ripped outโฆT_T
Honestly this game is pretty slow but I enjoyed it
I like how the final scene sets up so you can confess to the heroine but you can instead challenge her to a steambot battle
>>714680094Didn't everyone have this shit? I feel like it was a pretty popular PS1 game, something niche would be a game like Overboard!

I wouldn't call it obscure but it isn't popular.
Not PS2 game.
Not that obscure.
But it will be forever my favorite game ever. And I'm not even gonna pretend nostalgia doesn't play big part on it.
It's just too strong. I just like Alundra.
>>714713902I rate Alundra 7/10 but I think I'm bit biased. I don't care tho, because many things in life I like aren't 9/10 or 10/10. You gotta learn to criticize stuff you like or you really don't like them at all.

>>714671058kek I had that one in mind
played with my little brother, favorite part was redoing certain section again and again until perfection because we had like 7 bullets between the two of us.
We beat it without losing anyone. Second game was just depressing... and the fixed chars didn't help it at all.
I loved obscure bro, I even bought this one for me and the bros back when steam still sold 4-packs just to keep the series going but I guess it sold like shit lol...
>>714726257>>714722372vgh... skimpy clothes my beloved...
>>714733747That isn't obscure, as much as I love it.
>>714733737MC with harem party... what the fug, I just want this in my western crpgs, I can only pull it off in slav games otherwise is just mercs...
the ideal team, reminds me of Jackie Chan going on adventures with the chinese, japanese and spanish girls. Kino...

>>714738136I would say its pretty obscure, they literally only made one game
It gets overshadowed by Twisted Metal (same devs)

This really was kino, you were in a giant mech that could transform from land to air form, and I guess it was in a kind of Command and Conquer style universe. Quite a few cool scenarios and units to blow up.
But it was on Xbox and PC too!

>>714670101 (OP)The first one is leagues better but you asked for a PS2 game
Goblin Commander, I was so young at the time I couldn't even conceptualize what an RTS game was, but I thought it was so cool how you built an army of sick ass goblins

Redline, outwars, recoil, godhand, danger dave 2, netstorm, Nox
>>714670101 (OP)Warship Gunner 2 and Gundam Federation Vs Zeon
I'm book marking this thread, gonna try these out when I get a chance.
Rogue galaxy is my favorite ps2 game. Ive played it so much as a kid. Loved the bug collection and battles. The toad weapon fusion. The factory assembly item creation.
It felt so fun and interesting. Literally a journey one should experience.
Also played a lot of these:
>Pitfall
>casltevania cod/lol
>Simpsons the game
>onimusha 3
>baldurs gate 2
>maximo vs the army of zin
>atellier Iris 2
>bdz bt3/Iw
>altered beast
>evil dead regeneration
>Sims 2 castaway
>Codename knd
>one piece Grand adventure 3
>king Kong
>Tmnt 3
>timesplitters fp
>ben 10 games
>metal slug anthology
>monster lab
>spy vs Spy
>dmc3
>yugioh monster colisseum/tag
>Downhill
>>714744286i dont think ive played any of those games
>>714670101 (OP)Either Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy, or Robotech - Invasion.
Both live in my head, rent free. Robotech is really unimpressive, I don't know why my younger self was so obsessed with it.
>>714744404They're super fun and interesting, you should give them a try. It's really worth it
>>714745271 Yeah man, PS2 was just built different. You could grab literally anything off the shelf at Blockbuster and itโd be some weird, memorable experience. Half those games were jank as hell but they had SOUL. Like, even the licensed stuff felt more alive than most modern junk. Give 'em a shot, you're in for a trip.
>>714744404Sphinx also lives rent free in my head, I played it only a bit, got stuck and gave up. It feels like a zelda Game in the Egypt.
>>714744286I forgot to add final fight streetwise and Ratchet deadlocked
>>714745484Also:
>Ratatouille>over the garden>Barnyard
