Yeah. Star Wars was always an amalgamation of the things that he liked and his autistic personality quirks. It was an auteur indie project that he single-handedly created in his head. If you remove Lucas from Star Wars, you remove its soul, and what you're left with is just something that has similar aesthetics. 99% of the EU and Disney Star Wars being utter shit is proof enough.
