Yeah, Wizardry is definitely a matter of personal choice right now or maybe you just want to challenge yourself by not using auto-mapping in some DRPGs. Just be careful when drawing your own maps using stairs as reference points between floors sometimes they don’t align perfectly. For example, in Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, the stairs going down from floor 1 are at (10,0), while the stairs going up to floor 1 from floor 2 are at (7,12). You should just use the elevator as your reference point instead.
