I think if you like DR you'd like P5R but in any case:
His fiancee was brutally assaulted and put into a coma. In his immense grief he thugged out a Persona outside of the spirit world (unprecedented feat in modern games) which allowed him to heal his fiancee, in exchange for her forgetting about him. After the team beats the final boss of the original release, he covertly steals the throne of that final boss so that he can allow his Persona to use his reality manipulation power on the whole world. He creates a world where nobody harms anybody else anymore and people aren't frustrated or dangerously ambitious anymore. His Persona forms are clear Christ/crucifix symbolism and there's an idea present that even if he can "save" all the rest of the world he'll never be able to save himself which is why he still has a Palace (the representation of a person's fucked up heart in the game). And he ends up stealing people's free will so he can play dolls with them as cope for losing his fiancee. The parallel to Noelle would be forcing her family alive or for Susie it would be the 'forever story' she describes to Gerson.
