It is great to see the artist's hand directly for a bit, but for a full episode, or a season, it's more immersive to be painted (even if there is no longer an ink & paint department). The presence of the animator is a reason I stick with anime though. Westoid animation went largely to pixar rendering and there's no end to intra-industry dick sucking trying to praise the medium, which is literally pointless to watch. May as well watch and critique AI.
