I bought my brushed chrome .50AE Deagle about 5 or 6 years ago. I've put about 150rds through it, maybe a little more and the finish is holding up just fine. The only issue I had is with the barrel locking lug area. The barrels are no longer 2 pieces held together with a pin but two pieces held together with a friction fit. This still leaves a small hole under the chamber that Magnum Research fits with a very small set screw.
Well that set screw backed out after awhile and actually jammed the action together with a round in the chamber. In hindsight this is a actually a good thing because firing that round on a empty mag freed it up and I would have almost no chance of doing it by hand without some serious tools and probably doing damage as a result. Anyways, I put some loctite on that set screw and it hasn't backed out since.
