I voted for him with the explicit intention of championing all of those ideas. I support all of that, and it STILL doesn't take away the stain of this failing. Can you understand that? That no matter what his valid intentions were, no matter how many people can and will continue to support those ideas, none of that will ever take away or detract from the enormity of this lie. This lie, this blatant hypocricy to protect the most vile and evil structure of power ever imaginable in this country, IS HIS LEGACY. This evil will forever stain the intent and implied good will of ANYTHING ELSE associated with Trump - because he's such a magnetic demagogue. He -can't- distance himself from this because he -doesn't want to-, so every single thing he ever does or says will be forever colored by this insanely evil act.
What makes this so much worse is the fact that still doesn't detract from the validity of denying or repulsing any of the evil crap he campaigned against. All those things, the scab labor, the rot in the education system, none of that goes away. It just becomes that much less of a hill to die on for everyone reading this BECAUSE HE JUST DENIED THE GREATEST CRIME THIS NATION HAS EVER COMMITTED.
The validity of everything he champions, everything he represented, has just become that much more hollow and cheap.
