I spent two weeks based in Budapest and visiting Belgrade, Bratislava, and Vienna.
They were all so great. Budapest was maybe the golden mean but depends what you want. It was cheaper than Vienna but fancier than Belgrade.
My suggestion would be. To eat at sit in local restaurants. They have a wide variety of food, food carts, etc. But the best and cheapest food was in actual proper restaurants, especially serving traditional food.
