i believe the weapon/item correlation is determined by the will of the lightner. while thematically i'm sure there's a consistent parallel to be made, it wouldn't be a massive creative leap to still imagine susie interpreting a ruler (especially those sharp metal rulers) as a giant final fantasy-esque buster sword. but if your opinion differs, i'm happy to hear any other ideas you might have. legit, i love to discuss this lore stuff.
