No, I disagree.
Understand that Re4 OG is more of a genre mash of a TPS and a Beatemup.
Whereas Re4make is more of a survival horror that is looking to make sure players have more uncertainties in outcomes (like RE 1, 2, and 3) in order to preserve tension that was lost from the inclusion of being able to move while shooting and reloading, being able to run while turning the camera to look behind you, and being able to parry melee strikes.
This is why:
>Leons movement is more sluggish and not as instant in Re4make (look at how sluggish his acceleration into a run, transition from shooting to running, and recovery frames from a melee attack, landing from a jump, and enemy hits are) compared to OG Re4 (and even Re2make).
>There is bloom and harsher weapon sway in Re4make vs OG Re4 (even with weapon sway being harsher in the modern ports compared to the OG hardware, Re4make is way more punishing)
>Headshots don't instantly reward you with an enemy stagger into a melee attack.
>Enemy attacks and grabs track the player in order to force players into parrying and crouch dodging.
>Enemies are faster and more immediately aggressive in general
>There are MORE enemies in OG Re4 compared to Re4make
>Melee hitbox is shrunken down compared to OG Re4
>The knife is a resource instead of a tool for constant use
>I-frames on recovery from using melee was shrunken in order to make you more defensive.
Re4 is more about reactive positioning thanks to your commitment to attacks and how generous the game is with enemy stunning, where as Re4 remake is moreso about strategically moving while managing your resources
The point being:
>Do you want to be hyper aggressive and styling on enemies like you're in Wrestlemania?
>Or clawing for that one little turn in the fight that may give you the upperhand like your John Wick?
Whichever you find better depends on your mood and taste.
