This could make sense, but Red XIII also senses Aerith. I'm not saying Cloud isn't going schizo, it's clear he is. But I think that was actually Aerith talking to him from the lifespring. He's more fucked up than in the original and she's probably trying to help him cope but it'll blow up in the end.
