But I do get it, and I just don't like it. I'm not saying the things they've in V:V are bad (because vanilla V is just inexcusable) but I vastly prefer something more. A bunch of storage containers you can climb in Shinagawa doesn't make the rest of the red desert environment much more interesting. Shit like SMT II is interesting to me, the church, factions, giant fucking sci-fi pyramid in the middle of a city floating above fucked-to-hell remains of Tokyo. I think the setpieces and sights were not engaging enough for me to enjoy doing open-world exploration in them, even if I beat both releases of V on Hard so I had plenty of time to see everything I'd wanted to.
And this isn't me saying II is better than V, but the concept sure is.
