At times I felt the gameplay hindered the writing, for example every chapter needs a battle so some of the combat scenarios felt a little forced. But since these books don't have to conform with gameplay systems or any other restriction, I suspect they'll be really good. I'll probably read Minis's first once I get them, just to go in order.

Now that you mention it, that'll be good practice. I've played more games/VNs than I've read books/manga, the former almost always having horizontal text and the latter vertical. There have been times I failed to recognize a common word just because it was written in a different direction than I was used to.

I've been busy IRL but I'm still slowly going through my 2nd SN2 playthrough, at chapter 11 now. Minis is so expressive.
