Some anons told me that in the days of old, before the Gamergate Heresy, Eceleb crisis and the Coomer Invasion, /v/ praised this as one of the greatest games of all time.
I'm agreeing so far:
>chapter 1 was absolute kino, gut-wrenching to the core as the corruption, betrayals (there is one betrayal every two cutscenes, pray you are not the victim of the current one) and class struggle of the world is thrust upon us as as Delita's sister is murdered while he watches at the behest of hero's family, making Delita turn heel and work for his own vision of the world just like Ramza
>chapter 2 is peak comfy as we puzzle together what is happening and both sides of the war of the lions get at it while the zodiac battles begin. The ending is absolute kino
I'm here:
>chapter 3 sees the templars, the consrquences of the war, the inquisition, the man (Wiegraf) who would be the hero of the game in a less cruel world than Ivalice clashing with us for we murdered his sister long before, and the epic massacre at the end
The stakes just keep rising. Wiegraf final fight was tremendous, truly the Zodiac Stones need to be contained.

Some anons helped me last night, and I just got to the end of Chapter 2 by beating your average string-pulling WEF / alphabet agency agent in their real form after a tough fight where I cheesed auto-potions and kept two save files to avoid wasting 16 hours of my life. This game is awesome so far:
>dark storyline and themes never cease
>Delita is an amazing character and raises so many questions
>the scene where Argath / Algus shoots Delita's sister is gut-wrenching]
>game has best take on class warfare
>you are constantly getting betrayed and kept on edge, everyone is untrustworthy
>it outdoes Game of Thrones
>job system is very interesting and allows for a lot of combinations and strategies
Why did no one tell me this game was kino?

WHY DID NONE OF YOU TELL ME THIS WAS ABSOLUTE CINEMA?
I am still in chapter 2, trying to rescue princess. But Jesus Christ, this is amazing. It is such a dark game.
>masterful use of tone, the game is dreadful in class warfare from beginning to end
>the entire downfall of Delita is a writing clinic, amazing what they managed to do with 2D characters
>game is hard as nuts, incredibly punishing but very rewarding
>you actually understand why Delita turns heel since you yourself lose all faith when they shoot his sister while he watches because a peasant's life has no value
>masterful tell and show
>no character instills more hatred in you than Argarth
>you are constantly getting betrayed, to the point you are so on edge that you just undress all the guest characters because you know they are gonna fuck around soon
>all battles feel like hopeless traps that you fall for
>you are constantly outskilled
