People hate that the main gimmick was wasted to that degree. The show could’ve been a top 10 Sentai if utilized well.

It’s been theorized that LuPat failing is why we have the current direction now, there’s a lot of weird stuff like Ryusoulger originally was a dragon sentai and broke the Dino pattern, Kiramager and Donbros bringing back popular writers and Shirakura’s grand keikaku but nothing outright confirmed. This franchise is also in a weird slump period where it’s gaining an adult fanbase but little kids just don’t give a shit about it so you get shit like King-Ohger being a flop while simultaneously being the most popular show of all time.

The show’s main appeal of being two rivaling teams is ignored shortly after the sixth ranger joins and they don’t even try to hide it.
The Lupinrangers will use and keep items that were clearly made for the Patrens while they are stuck with nothing. (Ex. an upgrade for Patren Ichigo is given to the sixth). They get shit on a lot.
The main writer makes nice characters but infamously makes weak plots that stall and are not resolved until the very end of the show.
