Part of it is the fact that we cannot read minds. This allowed for the invention of conspiracy theories like the soul, which let an entire institution dedicated to thinking illogically take root. This was compounded by the blur between confrontation and domination, as all spats between animals used to be to destroy eachother, but we evolved to project survival over something less immediate, the future; we developed the notion truth. This is relevant because the soul does two things, it attacks the truth and it attacks the human. It addresses the animal, immediate need to dominate and the long term, existential need for truth/value. So it is what people like to do more than just look for the truth. From religion came the justification of slavery, since we believed in magical skin inferiority. Mental health which was also weaponized using conspiracy theories about the mind instead of the soul. And from there capitalism really took off, taking advantage of the public's lack of understanding of shellshock and humane working conditions. Our lack of ability to understand other humans was also used create the red scare. Now it's trannies. There's no end to it, and it all stems from the fact that we cannot empathize aka read people's minds. Forced empathy, that to me, something like nuerolink, will be the most important invention of all time. Though if it were up to me I'd steralize everyone.
