i started learning art last year. i don't think "just draw more" is good advice, people learn a lot of things way faster if they have direct tutoring and feedback even if the amount of practices are relatively low. i have been doing drawing and 3d practices once a week or once every two weeks.
however it is true you must learn one thing at a time, if you try to rush and make your first drawings convey more than one fundamental you will end up wasting a lot of time and end up dissatisfied with the final work.
