No, it's not "weird". He said "along with being shorter compared to most old FF series", which is blatantly untrue. He was talking about how long the game was (compared to "old FF [games]"), not about how much additional content they may or may not offer. You can look it up yourself.
But what do you want though? What point do you think that you're making? XVI is ~80 hours for a completionist playthrough. This is in line with most FF games. The only real outlier is the overly bloated Rebirth, where if you want to you can play minigames for 80 additional hours and pretend that your time is well spent. Then I guess X, which is also a bunch of minigame bloat (Blitzball), but the Dark Aeons are actually something. And actually, the further you go back, the shorter the Completionist playthrough becomes. So really, the shitpost he made is wrong on every single level.
