it sounds like you want jeans that look like straight fit jeans, but your body's shaped a little bit outside the norm.
just go relaxed through the whole leg. your goal should be jeans that fit on the relaxed side in the thigh + knee and not too tight at the calves. the looser thigh will balance out your large calves. if they're too loose below the knees don't worry about it, take them to the tailor.
i would recommend 1930's repro jeans because they have a truly straight leg with no taper. if you want jeans with a taper this gives you a blank canvas for your tailor to perfectly fit it to your large calves. you might also want to size a little on the loose side depending on the fit you want -- they have a back cinch so you can adjust the waist without needing to tailor or wear a belt.
the only old timey thing about them is the back cinch and fit. otherwise they don't look anachronistic, you can wear them with any modern fit and they won't look out of place. little bit niche of a product though.
