Funny and depressing story. When new coke launched in the 90s as a rebrand of the original formula, the loyal consumer goycattle freaked out and took to the streets in protest. They called the coke hotline crying about how they were being deprived of their childhood and how their children would never experience refreshment. This is despite the fact that most of the blind taste tests showed that even the most diehard coke fans preferred new coke. One guy even tried to sue coke but was shown in court to be unable to identify it against new coke and pepsi.
So to appease the masses and boost their revenue, coke brought the original branding for their flagship product back, but this time with HFCS. The goycattle didn't notice or care and just accepted it because they were just happy to have their original product to consume again. Very shameful stuff
