Be happy you're not a sports fan.

You could be stuck rooting for a shit team for decades. Hell, your team could go from winning three championships in a row to complete shit for two decades or more, and you can't do anything but go to their games and hope that your lone voice amongst tens of thousands might inspire them to just suck a little less. In the worst case scenario, you could be born and indoctrinated into a sports family loyal to a particularly shitty team, and forced to suffer loss after loss after loss for the entirety of your life.

Card game goes sour? Find a new team or even a whole new sport to root for. Maybe the Owner/Manager/Coach of your old team will get replaced and you'll start caring again, but really, there's no shame in being a fair-weather or bandwagon fan when it comes to games. They're just games, not a cult.
