Also, even if we ignore the deliberate optical illusion there and pretend that's an accurate picture, the oldscale JoyToy Marines are bigger in comparison to the JoyToy Sisters than the McFarlane Marines are than the McFarlane Sisters. See pic. Not to mention the JT Sister (who as a regular human is the size baseline) scales far, FAR better with other humans in 1/18 than the McFarlane Sister does with 1/12 or even 1/10 humans.

The designs are basically 1:1 with the minis. The overall height scaling WAS before they started upscaling everything (according to them to get better articulation and proportions- which I could believe, the older termies looked a touch on the goofy side, though Terminator proportions have ALWAYS been ridiculous even in official artwork). The actual body proportions were slightly adjusted to work better as action figures. Emphasis mine, slightly, and the weapons remain comically large, 'cuz 40K, which is gonna cause balance/holding problems.
