I'm convinced someone in a position of power actively dislikes them. I refuse to believe that Mephiston is the only good updated model that they're capable of putting out without active sabotage from someone who hates the chapter and their aesthetic. He was the last model to have nipples, the last one to not be ruined by a stupid pose, and really the only character to be a complete a total upgrade from the old version in every way while still fundamentally losing nothing from the original design.
