Interesting read. Must have been a fill-in issue. I heard about the time that Cyclops merges with Apocalypse but I didn't know it caused books to be thrown into AU's for a little bit like other events like AoA or Onslaught.
When Doom appears I thought Larsen would be implying that this would lead into the 2099 future but then Creed and Zola appear at the end. Hmm...older Spider-Man with Mayday, MJ, and the New FF isn't a bad continuity idea for an ongoing. Also that felt like Larsen just putting as much as he could into a story he liked. Though more hot women would have appeared if he wanted to. Also that advantageous line was cute.
