you know, its funny because 40k solved this problem. its 5 wound melee foot heroes are some of its most valuable and sought after units in the whole game, some armies even live or die by them.

turns out all you have to do is let them join units so they cant be singled out except by assassins, drop their points to sub 100, give them a strong buff, and occasionally a beatstick melee profile with like 8 or 10 cleave attacks

why aos cant seem to figure this problem out for 10 years straight when the answer is staring them in the face from across the office is frankly embarrassing
