Yeah, of course. Years worth of glass bottles were piled up around the abandoned gatehouse. A local guy I met regularly collects the burnable shit and burns it, but the whole grounds are still strewn with trash from goddamn pigs who can't enjoy a waterfall without stuffing their face from a takeout container (and leaving the leftovers for the scraggly ass dogs).
I'm hoping to climb Gunung Ledang, the tallest peak in Johor. That'll be like 1100 meters of elevation gain. Numerous buses ply the highway between Segamat and Muar every day, so getting to Sagil (the trailhead town) is pretty easy. Sagil has some rental rooms and restaurants, so it might be worth an overnight stay.
The traffic noise in these cheap roadside rooms is driving me nuts with lack of sleep. Why can't Malaysians build their motels on quiet back streets or in residential neighborhoods like the Thais do?
