>calling someone a fag shouldn't be the main point of a reply, but the icing on the cake
Fags like you do not deserve more than an anal fagging.
>maybe new people came and didn't spend time lurking, and just acted how they'd heard about this place
Lurking is overrated because fundamentally, lurking doesn't work. It operates on a similar basis as breeding. What I mean is that if a user reads 10 shit posts, he will assume shit posts is what's expected. And the category of people who do not care about making bad posts are the same ones who create tons of bad posts. So you end up in a blind leading the blind, where you have oldfags/newfags making garbage posts, the newfag comes in and assumes that's normal, and then continues that trend.
Why is it that 4chan/internet in general never improves? There's no moment anyone can say where the next phase of a game/forum/chan was a better one, it's always worst. There is an element of nostalgia sure, but I believe there's no quality pressures, forcing the next phase of the thing's life to be better. And simply that having more people, more posts, more "metrics", is always worst for the quality/soul of an entity. Picrel says it best

I don't go to crackheads and tell them to turn to God.
I don't go to ISIS and tell them to turn to God.
I don't go to American politicians and tell them to turn to God.
Why do I not do this? Because I know when someone is receptive to a message and those who aren't.
Even when the message is 100% not ambiguous/debatable like being fat sucks and you can not be fat by eating right/exercise, you will have people reject the message and continue living in a prison of fat. You expect people with similar mindsets to be swayed about nebulas topics of God?
Statistics argue against you anyways, most people are born into religion.
