Why's this website and it's userbase so fucked in the head?

I'm not asking this as a newfag, I'm asking this as someone who has been here for over a decade, partook in the culture and usual shitpost flinging and shitting on others, but every since I became properly Christian, there's something that just changed about my entire feeling of this place. I barely ever post here like once or twice a month instead of daily, if something comes up like a new game release and that's about it, and every time I open it up, there's just something stirring in me that makes me feel disgusted and unfitting to be on here anymore. I started noticing the huge amount of conversations where people do nothing but just insult and curse at each other with no point for anything more and more and it all just feels so absolutely vile and disgusting, I just can't explain it but it feels like whenever I open this thing up again, I'm entering Sodom and Gomorrah, and anytime I don't conform to the usual shitposty personality that's been made up around this place, I just immediately get pointed at and shat on an either immediately called underaged or a newfag or whatever other type of slur possible depending on the context of my post.

This whole thing was something I had awareness of before this as well, but generally just ignored or tried not to pay much attention to it, but now it's just this feeling of filth that I keep getting myself in whenever I come visit again, which I shouldn't be in anymore or engage with.

Is there any point in even engaging with atheists who use the exact same patterns of thinking and types of arguments over and over again?

I used to try and explain them out at times and give them more insight since most of them actually don't know religion in depth and are done out of some kind of emotionality, even when claimed to be made out of "common sense", but I got to a point where I'm just tired and don't even feel like explaining the same thing over and over again and go over the same things over and over again, especially when most of them don't actually even listen, just immediately shut it off afterwards and you realize you just waste your time more or less.

I always try to go into it with good intention and whatnot but at the end I just feel drained of energy and in a bit of a worse off mood since the person I would reply to clearly had no intention of having an open and honest chat, it's basically just baiting for a reply that they can then attempt to shit on or "prove" it wrong, either to themselves or others so they can feel intellectually superior. It just keeps looping over and over again through the exact same types of behavioral patterns and it does nothing but get super tiring after a while.

Literally just keep doing it. Ask God to help you with specifically what it is you need, you can just focus on asking Him to help you get rid of the fetish itself, or just combine it with something else as in, helping you both get away from porn as a whole AND the fetish as a result. Keep praying and asking for it, put effort into it yourself to resist temptations of interacting with it, and when you feel like you're about to break or give in or anything, immediately tell God about it, exactly how you're feeling in the moment and being unsure if you can still endure it, then ask to be helped with it.

You might fail somewhere along the way still before being completely rid of it, but when you're in that position, you just immediately go to God again and confess you failed to uphold what you should have, you let him know how it made you feel, you apologize then ask Him again to continue helping you with it.

It worked for me better than anything else at this point, I'm pretty much 2 months into being free of Porn, the shameful fetishes I was into and I haven't been jerking off anymore since I'm fulfilled enough to not constantly desire that as some kind of instant gratification action for whenever I'm bored. It wasn't an instant improvement obviously, and I failed for a good couple of weeks as I kept asking to be delivered from that stuff, but, eventually, there was a point where I specifically asked for God to help me last like at least 2 weeks without engaging with Porn and jerking off to it, which I failed 12 days in, then immediately went to him, feeling bad and guilty over failing it so close to the "finish line" , then instead asking Him to strengthen me and help me so I can do even better the next time and make it a full month without it.

And it was very hard at the start and end of it, but I eventually pulled through with it since He helped me.

Either way, point is, you're still going to have period of times where you struggle with this type of stuff, especially if you used to be really heavy into it beforehand, it will still have some kind of hold over you. But you need to just keep asking for deliverance and do some effort of your own to resist it even in situation where it feels impossible, and train yourself, or just get yourself used to talk to God more often and about whatever, even when you're in a situation like that where lust sort of seems to take over your body. You need to keep in mind you can't really be forced to do something you don't want to, even if you feel like it since God is always there to offer you a way out, if you are able to and willing to seek it. It's more that you're just tempted to the point where you become so engrossed in that thing you don't see anything else around you but that which you're focusing on. You still have an exit available to you at all times out of it, even when it seems as if you don't, so try and nail that in the back of your head at least so that the next time you find yourself in situations like that, you could have some other pointer to turn towards and remind yourself that you can overcome it.

I've seen other people say it took them years to actually get rid of stuff like this in some cases, so also don't try and measure yourself with others in terms of how long it took you vs them to not longer engage with this type of stuff, it doesn't really help with anything but make you feel more guilty and hopeless. Just focus on God and trying to keep yourself as far away as possible from that type of content. And if you haven't already, the best way to start would be to just take some time and delete all the porn you have saved so that at least you have nothing else on your computer that is easily accessible to tempt you further.

This is vague and doesn't really hit on any sort of mentions of anything like this. If you mean that thing which they usually say about "the ending is near" and other variants of it, yes, that is true. Time in Heaven works differently than it does on Earth. So if it says it's only "days" away, it's still true since by the time thousands of years passed on Earth, it would have likely just been days in Heaven. Either way, I don't exactly care about that to the point it's something I even focus on. There's no reason to pray to the end to come yet since there are still many people left that could and should be saved and get to know God, and that's exactly why He's also patience and allowing for things to keep going so that as many people as possible may get to hear of and know Him so that they don't have to perish, and can instead spend Eternity with Him and others alike.

It does talk about God assuring the Jews that they will have a strong nation with great rules that will be able to withstand the onslaught of Pagans and make it so they will have to "serve" them or just basically bow down and acknowledge God and His people, it's not directed in the way you're having it not specifically focusing on Jews as they are now, as in Judaism and the state of Israel.

I come to /v/ and make one video game thread every day. No bait image, no political statement, etc. I simply post a video game or series I like and ask people to discuss it. I've been doing this for almost a year. Usually the thread will die almost instantly and fall to page 10. But occasionally I'll find 1 or 2 anons that have a passion for that game and want to have a genuine conversation about it. It's nice when it does happen. Honestly if you want to "fix" /v/ the best thing you can do is take moot's advice and talk about video games.
