I'll explain some. To put it simply, HoH lacks the design elements that would otherwise identify them as a refresh of, or spiritual successor to, Chorfs. You can paint a pretty clear throughline between LRL and the High Elves, you can't do the same with HoH and the Chorfs. If you squint, turn your head, and be extra generous, you might see one or two elements (slightly tall hats and some beards) - but even then, its a loose connection, at best.
I know AoS is a sequel that doesn't want to be a sequel, but holy shit. Taking your design cues from Warcraft in a bid to "be different" is a little much.
