My stereo is a vintage "Eagle" brand, probably 40 years old or so.
My compound is an "Omax". Now as for the Omax and Amscope brands, I hear a lot of good about them, with a little bad. But for what it's worth, mine does extremely good. Using 400x and 600x dry objectives I have successfully taken pictures of bacteria flagellum. Here is one right here, cropped. This is only possible with very good resolution. This was using oblique illumination and 600x dry objective. Looked even better through the eyepieces.
