I don't disagree. Which is why I found it strange they seemed to hold on to Chris in RE8 along with killing off the newcomer, Ethan. It's still nice to see the original survivors but they can't go on forever. Yet at the same time what sucks is that it's mostly Chris, Ada, and Leon. I get it they're really popular and I enjoy them too. It's just feels like there was a wasted opportunity in that regard in having other characters making a return like Carlos, Jill, Claire, Sheva, etc. I just wonder what will be in store for the new lead Grace. Even then she is a descendant of a Raccoon City survivor.
