Even 40K people would be insulted by the notion this product was aimed at them.
But that is the least offensive part about it. CGL inventing progressively more ridiculous excuses for it is the most grating part.
That it was made is spare time and just a side project while it is clear significant investment went into it looking at the piles of boxes of it they had on gen con.
Or days-worth of explaining on social media that it was inspired by doom and quake and not 40K after the news leaked out. All the while CGL themselves gave it 40000 product number.
There is stupidity, and then there is CGL handling of Gothic.
