The "VGA" port on the MiSTer isn't necessarily a VGA port (though you can set it up to act like one) but more of a multi-output for video. You can set it to output composite, component, s-video, scart, rgb, whatever, and then just get or make the appropriate SUB-D 15 to whatever connector you want cable.
It's actually possible to do something like this through the HDMI port now too so you don't even need an analog board to get analog out from it, but this does mean you can't output to hdmi and analog at the same time if you do that.
