I can't be the only one who finds the weapon selection in Stalker 2 very lackluster even from a gameplay perspective.

For one, there's literally no 9mm pistols which is fucking absurd even if you're in the zone and very concerned with stopping power and armor piercing, they're sidearms and having it available is what matters the most and 9mm should be the most available caliber imaginable. There's no step up from the makarov like the Fort-12 or the Walther P99 before you get to the .45ACP pistols which aren't as strong as they should be so that progression is broken. The pistols in general got almost no love from the devs.

For two, the rest of the guns are also just meh pics. We got the Malyuk which is fine for a cheapo upgrade to the AK74, but then we get the X95 which is the most boring fucking bullpup ever and doesn't have any real gimmick, and then the Carmel/Kharod which is a literally who run of the mill ACRslop rifle that doesn't even make sense for the setting. They shoudl have picked a bullpup that's actually cool looking like the VHS-2 and a cutting edge rifle that's actually in Ukraine like the Bren 2.
