Judging by the dialogue at the end, we're either playing a young Ieyasu Tokugawa or a nameless self-insert who is working with Tokugawa. I was hoping we'd actually get something set in the modern day, but this is fine.
I guess on the bright side we actually get to see figures that the Nioh games haven't actually delved into yet, like Shingen (pic related) and maybe even Nioh's version of Kenshin (I wonder if they're gonna make him a woman).
