At no point is Vicious ever shown caring about Gren. He even smiles when Gren calls him out for what he did to him. Only when Gren reveals that Julia figured out his scheme does the smug smile fall from Vicious's face. Vicious may feel outraged and betrayed because Spike and Julia fell in love. However, that only goes to show what a weak shit he is. Julia did not love him. The syndicate did not want him as their successor. Vicious could not accept this and had to ruin everyone's lives, including his own, because he got his fee fees hurt.
