I kind of wonder if Asian monsters have a lot less weaknesses because of cultural differences. As in, a western audience is more likely to fear a monster and ask how it can be taken down and why they've never seen it. And Asian one may simply enjoy it as another legend. Could even be seen as influencing modern thoughts towards fiction. The West has all sorts of moral panics relating to how fictional content can negatively affect the real world. While Asia tends to have its panics over representations of bad and/or offensive things.
