Solid enough as a character, very cool moments. I'd say he's like a Gran in that he has some stuff to him, he's important and such but he's still a self-insert type character. Rather than a blank slate cardboard nothing like FGO or Genshin.
The fact that Rover gets a lot of voiced lines and is good in gameplay helps a lot.
