100 hours and I have just started to hit exploration milestones, caught up to the main quest, still need to do every single companion / exploration and most side quests. Dailies, chests, puzzles, events are all static and don't get affected by this.

Almost all of it just effects the story and overworld so there's not much penalty for lowering it if you want more comfy.
I think the only thing that it really effects that much is stuff that involves spending waveplates (tacet fields, ascension material bosses, etc.) where you'll get less materials for the same waveplate cost.

For some of the waveplate (like skill mats, weekly boss) it lets you choose the difficulty when you start it so it doesn't even matter since you can just pick the highest when you want to do it even if your SOL3 level is lower.
But for the ones that don't have a separate interface and just are on the overwork like tacet fields and ascension bosses yeah it kinda sucks.
