The firearms issue is clear. The use of an Order in Council to retroactively criminalize lawful property ownership is not just overreach, it is the dissolution of legalism itself. It bypasses Parliament. It assumes compliance not from persuasion or legislation, but from fear. And yes, disarmament always signals a government that anticipates resistance.
Power structures act to preserve themselves. When they sense they’ve pushed too far, they try to close the exits. Speech is choked. Protest is smeared. Weapons are seized. And people are told that obedience is virtue, that safety is freedom, and that their moral instincts are now criminal.
The current order is not sustainable. It will fracture through exhaustion, crisis, or backlash. What replaces it will depend on who organizes first, who remembers what was good, and who has the courage to build something better rather than just tear it down.
