The Winchester Model 100 is the best of them in terms of the price-design-function venn diagram. Having a stock design that's not retarded but expensive and nearly unobtainium to replace, disassembly isn't torturous or intense, and the gas piston system is M14-adjacent making it the second best overall. Magazines are boomer catnip (expensive) and the only way to get more of them for a sane price is Model 88 Triple K magazines and whatever those new production ones Numrich has.

The best of the best semiauto hunting rifle available in current moment is the Benelli R1; available in nearly any cartridge you would want, and a magwell begging for an AR10 adapter for shooting .308 as you should. The only main drawback of the R1 is price, and I've seen someone make a Mesa Urbino M4 stock fit onto it to have a pistol grip so it's not limited to having an fudd-stock only. The gas-system is objectively the best for sustained strings of fire, as well as disassembly that's not retarded or require many (if any) tools. I miss my R1, I'll likely get another one if my situation improves.

So 3 out of the 5 magazines I have work, which is a bummer, i knew they where fuucked but I'll fix them up and get them working. At 50 meters this is one of the more accurate rifles dispite it only being irons with a HUGE front sight aperture.
