People will tell you its not megaten without tokyo but actually look back and examine the series, the non mainline entries used to try a little harder
Devil summoner 1 and 2 took place in fictionalised versions of non tokyo wards, raidou 1 and 2 took place in the capital far enough in the past for it to be unrecognisable and look unique... then soul hackers 2 was just like eh modern day tokyo that looks indistinct from every other anime game
Same with persona, P1 up to P4 also took place in fictionalised versions of non tokyo wards, then P5 is just like fuck it lets just do tokyo
I don't wanna see fucking tokyo again, leave that shit to mainline if it MUST be done, every fucking spinoff doesn't need to be the same shit as well
