Why: You're fighting my superboss team sans Yoko, main thing could be Ishtar to be replaced with Lucifer and put in the Stock but wanted some restraint.
Strategy: Entropy as the magatsuhi skill (I know there's more than one skill but you have no idea how much this saved my ass against Demi Fiend/Satan) with a plan B if it can't be activated, I go with a normal turn before trying to end with the unique magatsuhi skill. The other big thing is that the team is without weakness (all weaknesses are Nulled). Goal is Satan 2.0 of being an endurance battle without any insta-kill management (Meggido Ark or Gaea's Rage). Demon kills are permanent, don't have infinite Liliths but the members are more fleshed out and practice piercing (Killing Wind boosted with +9 affinity versus unboosted Megidoloans). For base states just take note of True Lucifer's godborn stats but with a lot less HP (999 shit is for the trainer anyway).
Plot: Indulgent power fantasy for a Chaos-bino. In Godborn the bino gets a call from a future "Human" of the Yoko world via Lucifer (familiar with abyss demons pre-Mandela) who gives the quest and points him to the Demon King's Castle. You go to the bottom and find it different than CoC version where its Rennala's boss arena but with a blood moon. I was curious and wanted to see the strength of he who ushered the paradise. If you win I'll join your compendium and leave, have customizing your 2nd dancer for Magatsuhi war crimes.

There are different levels of intensity of an evocation or working with a spirit. Not sure about taunt, never tested it since all of them seem to work pretty well.

Energy drain I believe has a hard cap on MP recovery. It's worth noting as well that Life Drain and MP Drain are both actually stronger since they only focus on one resource.

Each element has their own immunity value that goes up every time the enemy is afflicted in battle. So sleep has no effect on charm. You can also reset the counter with Magatsuhi Dekajeon, so you could effectively stun lock enemies with the right set up for Black Rider and Loa.

I'm playing SMT V for the first time and I'm not understanding Magatsuhi Skills. Can someone help? Am I correct in assuming that if I activate a Magatsuhi Skill with one of my demons instead of the protagonist, it's not worth it? The reason I ask this is because the protagonist always goes first, and when he activates a Magatsuhi Skill (e.g. the one that guarantees criticals), then everyone gets the benefit of the Magatsuhi Skill since all your demons get their turns after you. But if I use a Magatsuhi Skill on my 4th demon for example (just before my turn is about to be over), then only that specific demon gets the benefit of the Magatsuhi Skill and that's it. It seems poorly designed.

You can change the turn order from the main menu and some magatsuhi skills have very specific abillities, single target skills and attacking skills where you would want to use them later. For example, Twilight Wave is the only Magatsuhi Attack skill that scales from strength, so it is actually affected by charge. You can use a donut skill on your wilder demon and then wreck shit with Twilight Wave. Then there's stuff like the Genma skill that increases battle rewards only if you win on the same turn, so you might not want to waste it until you're sure you can end the fight.

Lucifer killing God is basically just some window dressing for that. It seems neat and kinda megaten like, it takes place after humanity destroyed themselves and demons leave makai and take over the planet. But then aliens appear and you have a party of demons to fight them with. Theres even a fusion mechanic where you fuse your demon allies together and theres like 100 designs total

VX already exists and you can make dungeons with it, a long time ago I made a guide on how to use it here that I believe got nuked with the booru. It was a time when that one anon was converting demon sprites from the newer games and putting them in a format that would work. You can't really fuck with fusion too much, but you can add onto weapon fusion, since weapon fusion is an override to the normal fusion.

A good chunk of VX uses switches from what I can remember for story progress. But if you ignore the original maps and those switches you can do whatever you want. If I had more time today I could re-check to see if there was something I missed, but I work today.

You are better off downloading VX from the Japanese source instead of the edited version, since the edited version has some of the COMP Javascript code changed. Changing walls and floor sprites is easy for how it's rendered in game, but editing fusion and things like the COMP requires javascript coding. The negotiation system is sort of the same, but as long as it's similar it's fine.

Indifferent. I don't think about it.
4 was good, 3 was even better, but then 4A was this weird "let's inject some Persona trademarks like travelling with a bunch of juvenile characters and have them do anime chit-chatting from time to time into SMT to see what happens" which I didn't really like.
5 was enjoyable, but not as enjoyable as 3 (to me).
I think playing the games without any expectations and forming your opinion based on your experience with them is the best way to go, and what I'll continue to do moving forward.

When SMTV came out, I was interested in getting into the series but a friend of mine said he thought the game was shit so I didn't buy it and instead looked to emulation. Even if he liked V it was still a good idea i didn't buy it since VV became a thing.

The Raidou remaster comes out in just 4 days and I never played the orignal release of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army, so I'm going to start a save and play it for the next few days so I can appreciate better the changes the remaster will make.
The only thing I heard about it is that the battle system sucks and that the sequel made some big improvements to it.

I never had major issue with the 1 battle system. The 2 system is definitely BETTER but people act like 1 is unplayable and I never felt that way or understood.
If you want a tip, you can guard cancel out of the second hit of raidous combo and for a lot of the game I found that better to do than his 3 hit combo
