Yeah the best way to describe it is very Zero/ZX coded. there is even a protoman/zero rival that even got his own spin off series, if anything I wish they tweaked gunvolt more, He kind of becomes a side character in the next entries even though the games are to his name because the shiny new character gets new gimmicks compared to him.
