kinda of a childish way of looking at it, for me its either
>the emotional impact is at its highest when the bull is at the same age group as the son/ same age demographic
>the story has zero in the impact of the mom's downfall/her being stolen away
single mom (at least I'm assuming she's single) having a new boyfriend just doesn't do it for me
