I don't think a genuine fiction will ever come from a writer parted from the genre's homeland culture. Almost none of these RR authors, if any, can truly grasp the psyche motivating wuxia / xianxia protagonists to act the way they do, so they simply give chink characters a two-dimensional selfish and cold personality because they cannot comprehend the tenet beliefs moving neoconfucianism as the outstanding Asian zeitgeist.
