From a value free analysis for the vast majority of organisms, as long as basic needs are met, are comfortable and have not been raised in larger space beforehand, they won't care about large space or liberal freedom of movement. The fact of the matter is most cats or dogs are happy if basic sensible care criteria are met, it is just down to personal discretion as an outsider whether them being happy in these conditions justifies said conditions which inevitably boils down to whether animals should be compareble to humans in terms of value of life and then tackling, if agreed, whether the libertarian doctrines of freedom is a universal truth to happiness as a whole or not.
