To me it's anime that trusts the viewer. I was surprised when I watched immoral guild because I feel like the humor in it is actually done quite well compared to a lot of others and it trusts the viewer to piece things together themselves.
For example, there's a gag where one of the characters gets a little flustered over a girl's body and compares her thighs to a storebought ham. A few episodes later the cast is at his house and one of the girls opens his fridge to see nothing but ham (pic related), which got a healthy chuckle out of me. She grabs what she needs and continues on. If this were ANY other anime, she would explain the joke like I'm a fucking retard:
>"hmm, why does he have so much ham? "
>[picture of the girl's thighs -> blinking ham icon]
>"Ahhh... yabe kono hentai"
>character pops out of the corner to frantically deny it in front of a purple and black background
